Holiday Activity Days
Childcare without the filler - nothing but adventure and absolutely NO SCREENS!
We run our incredibly popular Holiday Activity Days every day of the school holidays. They absolutely always sell out, and the Wild Days in particular sometimes have a waiting list that runs into the hundreds - so if you’ve got a date in mind, best to book it quickly! You can book online by clicking on the links below, or the book online button. To use childcare vouchers, please email reception@longridge.org.uk
All days run 8.30am - 5pm, and include a packed lunch for just £55.
We have three age brackets:
Reception - Year 2 - Wild Days! No water activities or ropes for this age group as they aren’t quite old enough yet, but still a full day outdoors.
Year 3 - Year 7 - Holiday Activity Days
Year 8 - Year 11 - Holiday Activity Day +
We are Ofsted registered, which is great as is means we can accept childcare vouchers, but also means that we cannot accept young people who are not in those school years. The programs, activities, and days are tailored to each age range. There is no wiggle room in this, apologies.
Wild Holiday Activity Days
Reception - Year 2
Are you looking for a tired, dirty, happy child?
If so, our Wild Days could be just what you're looking for! Whilst they are not quite old enough to head out on the river, these days are a full day outside filled with adventure. We tailor the program each day dependent on who is booked on and the weather, but days include activities such as: Bushcraft, Fire-lighting, Shelter-building, Water Orbs, Aeroball, Mini-Beast Hunting, Found art, and so much more.
Holiday Activity Days
Year 3 - Year 7
Holiday Activity Days are for young people between the ages of 8 and 12 who are looking to explore some adventurous activities and get a day of fresh air (no screens!). They will participate in four of our adventurous activities throughout the day, two in the morning with a break for lunch, and then two more in the afternoon.
The activities are varied day to day and are not confirmed until the morning of each day as we wait to see: 1. What the weather is doing, 2. If we have any repeat visitors, 3. The age range and abilities of those booked on. So best to pack them clothes for all eventualities!
We run in all weathers so no matter what they will be outside and active all day! We have no indoor activities, no arts/crafts, no screens - just outdoor adventures, all day. The aim is (roughly!) one high rope activity, one land activity, and two water activities - however we cannot stress enough that this is varied for the benefit of the participants. A typical day might be Laser Tag, Crate Stacking, Rafting and Kayaking, as an example.
Please note that February (and sadly sometimes Easter, but we will see how Mother Nature is feeling) dates will not include any water activities as the river will not be safe or legally usable.
Holiday Activity Days +
Year 8 - Year 11
Holiday Activity Days + are for young people between the ages of 12 and 16 who want to get outside and have an adventure. They will participate in four of our adventurous activities throughout the day, two in the morning with a break for lunch, and then two more in the afternoon.
Very importantly - we are screen free. Regardless of how very old and cool the young people in this age group think they are, they still will not be able to keep their mobile phone or any kind of device on their person whilst they are on site.

The age range and abilities of those booked on. So best to pack them clothes for all eventualities! A lot of the young people who attend in this group may have been with us before, and so we may further develop kayaking or ropes skills if their level of experience allows.

Stand Up Paddleboarding and Axe Throwing are Holiday Activity Day + specific activities as they are not suitable for the younger age ranges.
