The first and most urgent project we need help to complete is the training block; whilst the Sport England grant enables work to start, we still need to raise money to furnish the training rooms and create best-in-class disabled facilities. This will cost an additional £200,000, which we need to raise by May 2010.
Once the training centre is completed, we will be fundraising for a further £0.5m to build our visitors centre/club rooms, re-configure/expand our car park, improve our security, pathways and finally upgrade our site services, such as electricity, gas and water. At the same time, we would also like to build a bridge to our island with a tree house, which would be a unique and inspirational place for young people to learn about their environment, the river and the geography of their surroundings. All of the buildings will be wooden and for those making a donation, it will be possible to individually name each of the external wooden panels - a wonderful way to be part of Longridge for many decades to come - see New Beginnings to find out more.
Full plans are available but costs are:
| Bridge to the island | £80,000 |
| Tree House/classroom on the island | £80,000 |
| Infrastructure—gas, electric, water | £100,000 |
| New car park | £100,000 |
| Visitors Information Centre | £350,000 |
| Visitor Accommodation | £250,000 |
| Volunteer Accommodation | £250,000 |
All of these buildings offer naming opportunities and of course an opportunity for your group or business to form a partnership with Longridge.
